An outage occurred in an MPLS VPN network running OSPF. A PE router lost the LDP session to both P routers, however, the OSPF sessions were not affected. During this outage, traffic was blackholed for an extended period of time through the PE router. In order to address this type of failure, the PE loses its LDP sessions with both P routers. The operations team also has the requirement of logging the LDP status.
